4:06 pm	Brilliant ideas by brilliant people Maharashtra Chief Secretary D K Sankaran suggested monitoring access inside all stations, installation and use of metal doorframes and hand-held metal detectors at all entry points, frisking of commuters and visitors and employing sniffer dogs at all stations. However, the railway authorities believe the passenger density at the two suburban lines, Western and Central, including Harbour — during and outside rush hours will hinder implementation. Number crunching Given the fact that approximately a crore travel by both Western and Central railways, frisking will be nearly impossible. "It will only add to the chaos," said a railway official, saying it is nearly impossible to man all entry points to a station. There are 92 suburban stations in Mumbai. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus alone has a daily footfall of 35 lakh passengers, while Churchgate sees more than 7 lakh commuters a day. "A delay of even a few minutes can create a near-stampede situation at stations, which are always overcrowded during rush hour. ( more ) Yet another sunny weekend at Seattle, what more could somebody ask for and which also explained the crowd at the Snoqualmie Falls just 30 mi from my place. 10:18 pm	Lost in Paradise Having a 360 degree view of snow capped mountains is a rare sight to anyone and I was one of those lucky ones ; Drove upto Mt Rainier last weekend, an extinct volcano about 100 mi from Seattle ; Paradise as the place is called offers a view nothing less than breathtaking, one of the best I have been and seen. 7:20 pm	Long long ago..not so long ago its been 5 months now since the last entry..wow thts a long time well i don feel so..my stay in hyd has now reached 10 months..been 14.5 months since we finished engg..all have passed so fast..really amazing. Life has bcome a routine now and as our gr8 dilip sankar reddy says-"we should try to be happy in our own world"-well ive been tryin to do so.. independent life has taught me many new lessons..has given me many new friends..made me more responsible i guess.. hyd has been good to me till now..although blore still stays deep in my heart..sad to see blore in the state which it is today..chokin roads..glass buildings..hope it dosent lose its charm.. expectin some comments from our very own DSR... 8:04 pm	Hyd traffic sucks to the core its been 2 months since i ve been drivin here and have come to the conclusion tht if u can drive here u can drive not only anywhere on the world but on any planet... if u wanna drive here its pretty easy there is no rule such as left or right lane.. just take ur vehicle and aim in the empty spaces..this applies for 1,2,3...wheelers,without wheels and animals too.. still ridin a lot been to ramoji film city few weeks back(40 kms) and ocean park(theme park) yest ..good fun Current Mood: geeky Current Music: Another day in paradise - phil collins (11 Comments |Comment on this)
